It's something I've been noticing that is happening so often after I began to read the book "The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment". In some spectacular way, I find that there are moments where I sit and just suddenly feel a burst of happiness inside of me.
It's very strange and weird, you might think. The feeling usually comes all of a sudden. It makes me feel all bubbly from head to toe. During these moments, I feel happy that I have loving parents, a good education, a cozy home, amazing friends, and most importantly, an air conditioner. It gets so hot here in Vietnam at night! :D The simple feeling of not being hot is enough to make me happy.
I guess you might think that the trait is a part of me, that I'm already a really happy person. Still, I've never had these joyful moments before I read the book. It's as if I saw the world in a different way and appreciate what I have now. It's truly a priceless feeling to experience.
What I'm trying to say is...try to be happy with where you are. Appreciate what you have now, live in the present and not the past or the future. Don't evaluate the past to think what you should've done. Don't try to predict the future and worry over it. Just simply, "live in the now". You're missing precious time from the present if you worry over the past and the future. This is one of the most valuable lessons I've learned from the book.
For now, you might not have a clue what I'm talking about, but the feeling of joy is just so valuable to me that I want others to experience the feeling as well. I do suggest you to read this book, but if you choose not to, still keep in mind that you should always appreciate what you have and simply be happy!
"The Power of Now" is a great book. I haven't finished reading it yet since the explanations and interpretations are so in depth and inspirational that it simply needs time for the information to sink in. Still, I believe that reading the book will somehow help you open your eyes to a different perspective and open your mind to a higher level. To see the world in a more peaceful way and understand the basic means of life.
For the next few days, try to be happy. See the good in things and not the bad. You'll see that when you are happy, it affects others who are around you to also be happy as well.
Make your day better just by being happy. :D
